Individuals enrolled in the Permanent Housing program have their immediate housing needs met, which includes a room in a shared living space along with bedroom and living room furniture. Over the course of the program, individuals share living spaces with a roommate of the same sex. We provide housing through a CRP sublease; rent is divided equally and households received a monthly credit for electricity.
STORY OF SUCCESS
Jalonda experienced homelessness when she took a leap of faith and moved to Atlanta. While attending school at Jobcorp, she was connected to the Community Restoration Project, where she was helped through the Permanent Housing program. The Permanent Housing program provides individuals with immediate housing needs met. This includes a room in a shared living space along with bedroom and living room furniture. Jalonda was extremely thankful to be able to move into her apartment in December. CRP provided her with furniture and cleaning supplies for housing and funds for transportation. Since joining the program Jalonda feels that she has grown and become a better woman. She is now in a more secure environment that helps her stay focused on improving her life. Her goals now are to find her own permanent housing and help others in similar situations. Jalonda says she “really wants to help people” and advises others “to keep your head up.”
